  • Ultralight & extremely durable
  • Ergonomic carbon back shell that carries up to 50 kg
  • Stiffened hip belt with HDPE shell for optimal power transfer – loadable with the Monowalker up to 50 kg tensile load
  • Load transfer directly to the hips
  • Only 1.9 kg total weight – ready to go for Monowalker use
  • Perfect ergonomics for maximum efficiency
  • Ventilated back area
  • Ergonomically shaped, angle-adjustable Height-adjustable shoulder straps
  • Evazote  foam-padded, dimensionally stable hip belt in two sizes
  • Load distribution via V-straps on the hip belt

Specifically available for women

  • Adapted, narrower shoulder straps (chest-friendly)
  • Shorter hip belt for a better fit

Configure your Monowalker SL-X Carbon fiber Packframe individually:

  • Wide hips = men’s hip belt combined with the narrow women’s shoulder straps
  • Narrow hips = women’s hip belt combined with the narrow women’s shoulder straps

The hip belt is available in two lengths:

Size S fits people (women) from 1.58–1.80m (5′2″ -5′11″) tall with a hip circumference of up to 77-87cm (30-34″) .

The standard harness fits waist sizes from 85cm (33,5″)  to approximately 1.95m (6′5″) tall thanks to its adjustable shoulder straps and MOLLE system compatibility.

  • MOLLE loops on the hip belt
  • Optional: magnetic quick-release adapters – no more tedious webbing threading
  • Pockets can be intuitively attached and detached magnetically in seconds
  • Seamless integration with the Monowalker Fatmate

Direct connection via the hip belt system efficiently pulls heavy loads
Combination of carrying and pulling = maximum reach

The Monowalker SL-X Carbon Packframe is your “Swiss Army knife” – multifunctional for every outdoor activity.

FAQ

Carbon – developed for extreme loads

Carbon fiber composites were originally developed where maximum strength at minimum weight is crucial: in aviation and cycling sport

The fiber structure of modern high-performance fibers, such as the T700 carbon used in the Monowalker Packframe, achieves tensile strengths of around 4,900 MPa.**

But the decisive advantage lies not only in its strength. Carbon possesses exceptional specific stiffness – that is, stiffness relative to its weight. This means you get the structural stability of a solid frame – at a significantly lower weight. The Monowalker Carbon Packframe is 40% lighter than a comparable aluminum construction of a classic aluminum packframe.

The underestimated advantage: vibration damping

Aluminum frames (whether used in backpacks or as pack frames) transmit vibrations almost unfiltered.Carbon, on the other hand, consists of a composite of fibers and a resin matrix that processes mechanical energy differently. Micro-vibrations – which occur when walking over scree, roots, or steep descents – are partially absorbed.

The result is only noticeable after many hours in the field:

  • less fatigue in the shoulders and hips
  • more stable load distribution
  • smoother carrying experience

This difference becomes particularly apparent with heavy loads or on uneven terrain.

** Carbon facts about our carbon frame

T700 carbon fiber is a very common, high-strength carbon fiber used in aerospace engineering, originally developed by the Japanese company Toray Industries. It belongs to the so-called standard modulus high-performance fibers, which offer a very good balance of strength, stiffness, and cost.

What does “T700” mean?

The designation T700 is a material class within Toray’s carbon fibers. It describes a fiber with specific mechanical properties, in particular:

Typical properties:
Tensile strength approx. 4,900 MPa ca. 4.900 MPa
Modulus of elasticity approx ca. 230 GPa
Density ca. 1,8 g/cm³
Elongation at break ca. 2,1 %

What does 4,900 MPa tensile strength mean?

MPa (megapascal) is a unit of mechanical stress.

1 MPa = 1 million newtons per square meter

A tensile strength of 4,900 MPa means:

➡ The fiber can withstand 4,900 million newtons per square meter before it breaks.

For comparison:

Material Zugfestigkeit
alloy ~300–600 MPa
steel ~400–800 MPa
titanium ~900–1100 MPa
T700 Carbonfibre ≈ 4900 MPa

Carbon fibers can therefore achieve more than 5 to 10 times the strength of metal, at a significantly lower weight.
